Greetings Sing Out Loud-ers…Friendly Despot here 😉
It’s so, hard to believe that The Autumn Sessions are on our doorstep and that we shall, on September 18th, be meeting once again, to compare our Summer breaks and launch into some new pieces – extending our repertoire even further.
I don’t know about you, but I love the Autumn, and most of all, I love spending it with all of you and our music. I can’t think of a better way to warm up the chilly darker days of the year and put us into the right spirit for the festive season. (Editor’s Note: Erm, it’s a bit early to be talking about THAT, DB (or, maybe not – we do have to plan ahead, and maybe we’ll find some new, seasonal songs to sing, this year!?!)
If you have any needs or questions, or outstanding business with Karen, now of course is the time to deal with it… I understand from her that we have several ‘returners’ and newcomers, and we are about to be full. So, if you haven’t booked your place, NOW is the time to catch her about it, and see what can be done.
For those of you enrolled into the Autumn Sessions, we have the honour of having been invited to kickstart the proceedings at this year’s “The Bury St Edmunds Oxjam Folk Weekend”, on 25th-26th October 2014. We very much look forward to that…
So, rally your friends, family and supporters, and together we’ll raise some money for a great cause too! (Editor’s Note: Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful place to visit, so, come early, and make a day of it. You may even wish to stay for the weekend, as you will each receive a weekend pass, so, you can stay all day on the Saturday, AND, if you wish, you can return, to enjoy more music, on the Sunday).
Have a wonderful weekend everybody. Karen & I look forward to seeing you all, on Thursday.
Best wishes, dbx
