Saturday Afternoon Workshop

On Saturday 22nd June 2019, Sing out Loud is offering a 2-hour afternoon Workshop, with Guest Tutor Emma Bishton.  Please arrive from 1.45 pm for a 2.00 pm start.

Sing Out Loud

Sing Out Loud is a friendly, welcoming, inclusive non-auditioned community singing group. We learn new and familiar songs by ear, so you don’t have to be able to read music. All the Workshop songs will be brand new to Sing Out Loud, so everyone is learning together.

We have some great new tutors in our local groups and are currently looking for new singers in all voice parts.  Men (in particular) and women – of all ages and any level of singing ability – are welcome at Sing Out Loud, from the beginner to more experienced singers.

The Workshop

Would you like to attend? Or, who do you know who’d enjoy making some new friends and singing for a couple of hours, on a Summer Saturday, in central Chelmsford?

Please come and invite your friends, to join you. There is no charge to attend this Workshop, but we ask you to book your place(s), please. Then we’ll know how many to cater for (seating, lyrics, and refreshments, etc).

The workshop is open to all. Both Chelmsford and Colchester Sing Out Loud-ers, plus their guests. Any potential new singers who may not be sure if they can sing will also be most welcome (and those who know they can). If you’d like to try Sing Out Loud for yourself, this is a great opportunity and will be a fun afternoon.

Guest Tutor – Emma Bishton

Emma Bishton, is a choir leader, soprano and accompanist who directs choirs and informal singing groups in the Colchester and Ipswich areas.

A former music therapist, she is experienced at leading choirs and singing groups in school and community settings and draws on a wide range of repertoire from folk songs, rounds and partner songs, to Musical Theatre, and classical works.

She says: “I love singing, and I want others to feel that they too can enjoy singing, whatever their starting point. In my informal singing sessions – like the forthcoming Sing Out Loud workshop – my goals are that singers will both have fun and will feel more confident about their singing, as well as experiencing the physical and emotional benefits we can all gain from singing.”
